WARRANTY:
All repairs (with the exception of software related, battery, liquid damaged devices, microsoldering repairs, refurbished devices, custom PC builds and budget part repairs) come with AJ Tech Repair lifetime warranty which starts from the date the job has been completed. If the nature of the repair falls outside the terms of your warranty, then you may incur a charge for the repair. The warranty only covers for the original repair. For example, if you pay for a screen repair and the screen becomes faulty, you will be covered with the lifetime warranty. If any additional faults occur that are not related to the original repair this will not be covered under warranty and will be chargeable. There is no warranty provided for batteries, software related issues or liquid damaged repairs. Third party repairs will void your warranty with the original manufacturer if your device is still under warranty.

If you take your repaired device, custom PC build or refurbished device to a third-party repairer, this will void your warranty. If the device has been opened by yourself, damaged accidentally or shows little to any physical evidence of damage (scratches, cracks etc), it will not be covered under warranty.

Parts quality differences: AJ Tech Repair offer three different screen repair options, focusing on LCD and OLED screen types. These options include budget aftermarket, premium aftermarket, and genuine screen options to accommodate a variety of budgets and preferences, ensuring that everyone can find a suitable solution. While the budget aftermarket screens are more affordable, they differ in quality and durability compared to premium aftermarket and genuine screens, which tend to offer higher quality, better performance, and longer-lasting results. It's important for customers to understand these differences so they can make an informed decision that best suits their needs and expectations. There are picture quality and build quality differences between budget aftermarket, premium aftermarket and genuine screens. For example, budget aftermarket screens typically compromise on picture and build quality, using cheaper materials that result in inferior colour accuracy, contrast, and overall display performance. Premium aftermarket screens aim to closely replicate genuine displays by utilising similar technology and higher-quality components, offering a balance between cost and performance; however, they still may not fully match the precision and durability of genuine screens. Genuine screens, designed by the original manufacturer, provide the best colour fidelity, contrast, and durability, ensuring an exact match to the original display. Replacing an OLED screen with an LCD screen on an iPhone or iPad may affect battery life because OLED and LCD screens use different technologies and power consumption methods.

Apples 'Unable to verify' message after a repair: Please be aware that installing aftermarket parts on your Apple device may trigger a 'unable to verify' message in the settings. This message appears because Apple restricts the configuration of serialised components to preserve product integrity and security, ensuring only genuine Apple parts are used for repairs. While this notification doesn't impact the device's performance and aftermarket parts generally work well, using genuine Apple parts is recommended for optimal compatibility and to prevent potential issues. Nonetheless, aftermarket parts remain a reliable and often more affordable option despite the verification message.

Device passcode and password: The pin code, unlock code or password is required for your device to carry out a fully successful repair or diagnostic, this is because the device and all it’s features and functionality have to be tested before completing a repair. This also means I can provide you with a confident warranty for your device knowing everything is working as it should. Your privacy and personal data is taken very seriously by AJ Tech Repair in a professional and trustworthy manner giving you piece of mind that your pin code, unlock code or password is not used for any other purpose and no personal data is accessed as part of the features and functionality test. Additionally, you can back up your device and restore it to factory settings. This means AJ Tech Repair is given a device with no data on it, after a repair you can restore your data again bringing the device back to it's previous state prior to repair. If AJ Tech Repair can't carry out the features and functionality test for your device before and after a repair then you may not receive a warranty depending on the nature of the repair. This is because it will cost AJ Tech Repair extra time and effort to fix any issues that could have been resolved during the first repair attempt.

Warranty claim process: Warranty claims for part(s) are subject to a validation process that typically takes approximately one to two weeks. This is because our supplier requires the original parts to be returned and validated as faulty before issuing replacement part(s). This process also ensures that the replacement parts are issued with the same warranty. If our supplier confirms the original part(s) is defective, a replacement will be shipped and installed as soon as possible at no additional cost to you. If, for any reason, our supplier rejects the warranty claim this means AJ Tech Repair will also reject your warranty claim. If our supplier determines the part(s) is not faulty, the original part(s) will be returned and reinstalled; in such cases, a diagnostic fee plus shipping charges will be applied if the issue is unrelated to the replaced part(s).

Screen protectors: AJ Tech Repair Hydrogel screen protectors are classified as consumable items and, as such, do not carry a warranty, as they are more susceptible to damage from daily usage, including scratches, impacts, and mishandling factors beyond our control. The durability of our AJ Tech Repair Hydrogel screen protectors is primarily dependent on proper user care such as avoiding contact with sharp objects. While hydrogel provides superior impact protection compared to glass, it is a softer material than tempered glass, making responsible handling essential to preserve their integrity and ensure optimal performance.

Lifetime warranty meaning: AJ Tech Repair lifetime warranty provides long-term protection and support which means the replacement parts used as part of a repair are covered against defects or failures for as long as you own the device, ensuring they will be replaced if they fail or become faulty due to manufacturing problems. For example, if you had a phone screen repaired which has lifetime warranty and it becomes faulty a year or two later, it will get replaced for free so long as there are no signs of accidental damage or misuse. Please note, this warranty only covers the specific parts that were replaced and does not extend to cover other components in the device, accidental damage, misuse, or repairs needed due to external causes, so if your device is damaged by drops, spills, or other accidental incidents, you will need to pay for additional repairs.

iPhone 'Stolen Device Protection': AJ Tech Repair requires that the “Stolen Device Protection” feature be disabled prior to any repair so that we can carry out full testing of the device, both before and after the repair, using our diagnostic software. This testing is essential to ensure all functions are working correctly and to provide a valid warranty on the repair. If we are unable to fully test the device, we cannot offer any warranty. We understand that in some cases, such as when a screen is severely damaged, it may not be possible to disable this feature beforehand. In these circumstances, once the repair is completed, you will be required to take the device away, disable the feature, and return it to us for testing on the same day if possible or within 24 hours of receiving the device back. If the device is not returned within this timeframe for testing, the repair will not be covered under any warranty. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, scroll down, and toggle off Stolen Device Protection. PLEASE NOTE: THIS MUST BE DONE AT HOME. The phone will not allow you to turn this feature off unless you are at a known safe location for security reasons.


CONFIDENTIALITY OF DATA STORED ON DEVICE:
AJ Tech Repair agrees not to disclose to a third party any information or data files stored on or recovered from the client's equipment during the job.


EXPEDITED REPAIRS:
AJ Tech Repair work on a first come first serve basis. However, if you need an urgent repair, an expedited service is available, for repairs only, and are charged:

• Microsoldering - £55.00
• Mail-in Expedited - £45.00
• Mobile phones - £45.00
• Tablets - £45.00
• Computers - £45.00
• Anything else - £45.00

Please note: AJ Tech Repair charge a fee for expedited service because it requires additional effort and resources beyond our standard operating hours. This includes dedicating extra time to prioritise your request, potentially rearranging my schedule, and ensuring that the quality of service remains high despite the time constraints. The fee reflects the commitment to deliver prompt results while accommodating the urgency of your needs.


MAIL-IN REPAIRS:
AJ Tech Repair cannot be held responsible for any damages during shipping. To help minimise this as much as possible, Royal Mail special delivers is used with the appropriate compensation cover applied.

Turnaround Time - Turnaround time for mail-in tech repairs typically ranges from 1 to 3 business days, depending on several factors including the type of device, the nature of the repair, and the volume of incoming requests. Customers are usually updated throughout the process, and expedited options may be available for urgent repairs, though these can come with additional costs. It's also advisable for customers to factor in shipping time to and from AJ Tech Repair when estimating total turnaround time. 

Undocumented Devices - Any devices that have been sent to AJ Tech Repair without filling in this form, being approved or without any prior knowledge will not be accepted for repair and will be sent straight back to you. You will be liable to cover return shipping costs and a £35.00 fee to cover the extra time returning the device(s).


BACKING UP DATA:
AJ Tech Repair will make every possible effort to preserve your data and, depending on the nature of the job, may do a backup of data before starting, however, it should be noted that there are NO GUARANTEES whatsoever that the clients data and files will remain intact after the repairs.IT IS THEREFORE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL THE DATA AND INFORMATION STORED ON THE DEVICE REQUIRING REPAIRS IS APPROPRIATELY BACKED UP TO OTHER STORAGE DEVICES PRIOR TO HANDING OVER FOR REPAIRS.

For back up, data recovery and data transfers, AJ Tech Repair will only hold a copy of your data for a maximum of 1 month, giving you enough time to check over your data and make sure you have everything you need.


DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR ATTEMPS FEES:
AJ Tech Repair charges £35.00 per diagnostic fee, this is simply to cover the time and effort that goes into diagnosing your device if you decide not to go ahead with the repair. Please note, if you decide to go ahead with the repair the diagnostic fee is waved and you will only be charged the price of the repair. Repair attempt fees can range from £35.00 to over £100.00 per device depending on the nature of the repair attempt however this will be discussed with you before proceeding.


COMPUTER SERVICING & SERVICING DISCOUNTS:
AJ Tech Repair charges £150.00 for a full service which covers both hardware & software servicing. Software only servicing is charged £90.00 per device for all computers. Computer devices that have been provided by, bought through or upgraded previously by AJ Tech Repair automatically apply for 50% off full servicing within the first two years. Please note, your device must be serviced at least once within the first year to qualify for the second year discount. For more info about computer servicing please CLICK HERE.

Devices provided by or bought through AJ Tech Repair, refurbished or new, also qualify for:
• 1 year warranty as standard (extendable at extra cost)
• 50% off yearly servicing for the first two years (terms above)
• 10% off any repairs or upgrades within the first two years
• 10% off another device purchase at any time


DEVICE CLEANLINESS:
Please wipe down and clean any visible surface of your device before handing it in for maintenance servicing or repairs. Any device in any poor hygiene state will be subject to a £10.00 cleaning fee, for example, a laptop covered in lots of dust, debris, smoking ash, dried/ non-dried liquid spills or dried coughing marks on the screen and keyboard etc. Please note, you don't have to worry about the inside of the device. AJ Tech Repair recommends 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol or Surface Polish for any plastics/ metals and glass cleaner for screens.


PAYMENTS:
Payment is due in full upon completion of a successful job, prior to the release of the equipment whether shipped to the clients address or picked up from AJ Tech Repair’s place of business unless by special previous arrangement. Payment must be made in advance for any work that requires the acquisition of materials specifically for your job or repair.

If credit terms are agreed, payment in full must be made within 7 days from the date of the invoice. Beyond the 7 days, AJ Tech Repair have the right to add an additional 20% penalty of the total invoice for each week of non-payment.

Overdue payments may also place the client on credit hold. This means no further services, repairs or equipment will be supplied or made available to the client until all previous payments are paid in full. AJ Tech Repair will accept payment by credit or debit card and bank transfers. AJ Tech Repair does not accept cash. Refunds can be refunded to the clients bank account. In circumstances when parts, hardware and software are supplied, you will only own these goods when payment in full is received. Due to Covid-19, AJ Tech Repair does not accept cash or cheque. However, Bank transfer and card payments are accepted.


APPOINTMENTS:
Please DO NOT show up at AJ Tech Repair place of work during out of business hours or without an appointment. You must have an appointment first, if you have an appointment please show up at the agreed time.

Business hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm, Saturdays - 9am to 1pm.


HOME OR BUSINESS CALL OUT REQUESTS:
Local Home/ Business visits (within 15-mile radius of Turriff) - These are charged at £75.00 plus mileage at £0.45 per mile, this includes one hour on site labour. Additional time over the initial hour is charged at £35.00 per half hour.

Home/ Business visits (beyond 15-mile radius of Turriff) - These are charged at £75.00 plus mileage at £0.45 per mile and travel time at £45.00 per hour, this includes one hour on site labour. Additional time over the initial hour is charged at £35.00 per half hour.

Home or business call outs are subject to availability and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis..

If a home or business call out is booked and access is not gained at the agreed allotted time the client will be subject to a charge fee of £75.00 including fuel costs and travel time. In the event when AJ Tech Repair cannot make the appointment at the agreed time due to factors beyond my control you will be contacted in advance advising you of the situation and re-schedule an appointment as soon as reasonably possible at a mutually convenient time. If you wish, you have the right to cancel your service or repair request. A full refund will be offered for any payments made in advance.


COLLECTION AND DROP-OFF REQUESTS:
Local Home/ Business collections and drop-off (within 15-mile radius of Turriff) - These are charged at £0.45 per mile and travel time at £30.00.

Home/ Business visits collections and drop-off (beyond 15-mile radius of Turriff) - These are charged at £0.45 per mile and travel time at £45.00 per hour of travel.

Home or business collection and drop-offs are subject to availability.


CANCELLING YOUR JOB:
If, for any reason, you decide to cancel your job you must do this before any parts for your job has been purchased and your job will be refunded to you in full. If you cancel your job at an advanced stage when you have already committed to the repair you will be liable to pay for any parts and materials purchased for your job including return shipping costs and all restocking fees (if any), the remaining amount will be refunded back to you.

If parts for your job are not required and you agree to go ahead with a job you may be charged a diagnostic or repair attempt fee if you change your mind after any works have already started or been carried out on the device.


APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION OR NO SHOW POLICY:
AJ Tech Repair schedules time slots for you so that your IT needs can be met. This is done on a first come first service basis and every effort is made to keep on time for appointments scheduled. It is understandable that life events may lead to you needing to change your appointment and I am always happy to change it if you provide AJ Tech Repair with at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows enough time to schedule another customer into the appointment slot. Where appointments are missed without notice being given a charge of £35 will be made to cover the lost time that has been allocated to your job. AJ Tech Repair will, of course take all valid circumstances into account.


COLLECTION TIME AND/OR FAILURE TO PAY:
Due to AJ Tech Repair limited storage capacity; your device will be held for up to 14 days after the agreed collection time or when you have been contacted to collect. After 14 days, if AJ Tech Repair has not had any correspondence from you or received payment in full, your device will be considered abandoned and AJ Tech Repair will have the right to sell the device to recover service cost and parts used to fix your device, or recycle the devices if it’s non-functional. AJ Tech Repair cannot guarantee that your equipment will not be discarded after the initial 14-day period, so it’s critical that you pick up your equipment on time or make arrangements with AJ Tech Repair to store your equipment temporarily. If you make arrangements to pick up after 14 days, or if you have paid in full but can’t collect until after 14 days, you will be billed £35.00 per week for storage which will be billed starting from the first day after the 14th day.


GIFT VOUCHERS:
- Vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months (182 days) from the date of purchase. Vouchers cannot be redeemed after the expiry date.
- Only one gift voucher can be used per booking and transaction.
- Lost, stolen, destroyed gift vouchers or unwanted gifted vouchers will not be exchanged or refunded.
- All gift vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers or discounts.
- Vouchers can be used for: Tech repairs, Custom PC builds, Refurbished devices , Protection pro screen protectors. Please note: You can not use your voucher for call out/ home visit support, remote support and repair attempts or diagnostic fees. If you require a service that is not listed here and would like to enquire if you can use your gift voucher for it, please contact to discuss.
- Vouchers are non-refundable.
- Vouchers are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- You must take your gift voucher with you to be redeemed, you can only use one gift voucher per booking. If your purchase exceeds the value of the gift voucher, the remaining balance must be paid via bank transfer or card payment only.
- AJ Tech Repair reserve the right to cancel any gift voucher for any misuse or violation of terms.
- AJ Tech Repair reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of the gift vouchers at any time without prior notice.


ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY:
At AJ Tech Repair, we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a respectful and safe environment for everyone. Please be aware that we have a zero tolerance policy towards abusive language, harassment, intimidation, or physical violence towards us. Any behaviour deemed threatening, discriminatory, or disrespectful will result in the immediate termination of service, termination of any warranties you may have with us, you will be blocked for life and may even lead to law enforcement involvement. AJ Tech Repair strive to provide excellent service and resolve issues promptly. By visiting our premises or engaging with AJ Tech Repair, you acknowledge and agree to respect this policy.


LIMITED LIABILITY:
AJ Tech Repair cannot be held liable for any loss of data, theft, loss of revenue or profits, or any incidental, contingent, or consequential damages, howsoever caused either prior or upon completion of a service. Furthermore, should AJ Tech Repair offer any advice or recommendations to a client as to the use of their device, storage, use of software applications confirmed by whatever means is used entirely at the clients own risk and accordingly AJ Tech Repair shall not be held liable for any such losses associated with such advice or recommendations.
